Krista Cole, Owner Sur Lie, Gather and co-owner of Catface Cafe.

What are you known for (or would like to be known for)?

Being an empowering leaders, empowering females in the restaurant industry and having a positive contribution to my community. 

What is the first word that comes to mind to describe Maine and/or Portland? 

Resilient.

Who is the Mainer who most inspires you (past or present)?

Ilma Lopez-female chef and owner, community leader.

What do you see as Portland and/or Maine’s biggest challenge?

Growing and diversifying but keeping its charm.  Providing affordable housing.  

What do you think Portland and/or Maine’s greatest asset?

Our food city and quality of life.

How would you like to see Portland and/or Maine changed 5 years from now?

More affordable housing, cleaner downtown, less homelessness. 

What is your favorite local restaurant / brewery / store?

Isa in Portland.

Favorite outdoor spot?

Chaval in Portland.

What are your thoughts on what makes women’s leadership unique and how Maine women can work together to create impact?

We're nurturing and empathetic.  We get things done without an ego and we empower each other. 

How/why did you decide to make Maine home?

I grew up in East Millinocket Maine.  I moved away for a number of years, but am proud to be home and contributing to my local community.  Maine is tough and resilient.  It has an amazing quality of life and we support each other.
